Neil Woolfson is a naturally gifted pianist whose distinctive melodic writing style comfortably spans a number of diverse musical genres.
Influenced from an early age by artists such as Pink Floyd, and classical and film composers such as Claude Debussy and Ennio Morricone, his productions oftern merge richly emotive symphonic arrangements with more contemporary pop and dance sounds.
Neil's dance music first came to the attention of the wider industry in 1999 when a demo tape was very well received by the then Positiva A&R director Damien Morris. Whilst opportunities were not quite to present themselves at this stage however, one of his tracks was later picked up by Peoplesound.com in 2003 and released in The Daily Star's "Hot Clubbing" series.
Under his Colourphonic alias, his track "Who Needs Love" (featured here) was test-promoed in summer 2010 reaching #11 in the Music Week Upfront Club chart, the only white label release in the Top 40.
Neil is a relative of the late Eric Woolfson (Alan Parsons Project), a second cousin of Nick Woolfson of electronic group Sounds From the Ground, and his father Norman has also been involved in worldwide music distribution for over 30 years. Neil is a member of the British Academy of Songwriters and Composers, and the Music Producers Guild
